16-Way Single Mode Simplex Fibre Optical Cartridge PLC Splitter SC/APC
PLC (Planar Lightwave Circuit) fibre optic splitters are an essential component of any optical network. These devices can be used to divide a single incoming signal into multiple outputs, enabling the loading and transmission of data over large distances. This helps to significantly reduce cost and maintenance time in networks as fewer components are required for the installation and configuration process.
PLC splitters are made from Fused Biconical Tapered (FBT) technology which minimises insertion loss and crosstalk, resulting in greater stability, lower bit-error rates, and improved system performance. They work by separating light with an angle polished connector at one end which allows the optical signal to enter into one port and be divided amongst multiple outputs.
They are widely used in Passive Optical Networks (PONs) for FTTH (Fibre-To-The-Home) applications. They offer reliability, high isolation between output ports, low insertion loss and good channel uniformity. I used the online customer support system used by Blake UK for advice regarding my intended installation and got very quick and helpful advice on what would suit me best….this was honest advice as I was thinking of purchasing more expensive items that would be unnecessary and also possibly even detrimental to my intended installation. My order was received very quickly and although there had been a small mistake regarding the length of cable I had ordered this was immediately rectified by Blake UK again using their online messaging system.
