Frequently Asked Questions
Why does my Wi-Fi signal keep dropping?
Check whether the selected 2.4GHz or 5GHz channel is already being used by another nearby wireless network. Channel congestion can cause intermittent Wi-Fi and slow speeds.
Why does my access point keep rebooting?
Check whether the automatic reboot feature is enabled in the settings. Adjust or disable the schedule if it is not required.
Why can my router not see the access point?
Check whether the access point is set to static IP or DHCP. If using DHCP, ensure DHCP is enabled on the router and that the access point is set to obtain an IP address from the gateway.
Why do I have Wi-Fi signal but no internet?
Check the router, DHCP settings and cable connection to the access point. A device may show a Wi-Fi connection even when the access point does not have internet access.
Why can I not see the 5GHz network?
The 5GHz network may take slightly longer to appear after a reboot. Check that 5GHz is enabled in the setup menu. Some older devices may not support all 5GHz channels.
Why is my Wi-Fi slower than my wired connection?
Check for channel congestion and confirm that the access point is not operating in repeater mode. For best performance, use a cabled connection to the access point where possible.
Is it normal for an access point to feel warm?
Yes. Access points may become warm during normal operation. They should not become excessively hot.
Why is there no light on my access point?
Check the power supply and confirm that the access point is receiving power. Also check whether the indicator light has been turned off in the settings or by the light button.
Wi-Fi Channel Selection
If an access point is using the same channel as nearby wireless networks, it can cause slow speeds, intermittent Wi-Fi or connection problems. Use a Wi-Fi analyser tool to check local channel usage, then select a clear channel in the access point settings.
