Product Description

1-Way UHF Low Gain Masthead Amplifier; 1 Input; 1 Output-9dB

1-Way UHF High Gain Masthead Amplifier; 1 Input; 1 Output-27dB

Our high performance, low-noise masthead amplifiers are ideal for boosting your UHF TV signal. The range includes numerous models which allows distribution to multiple TVs, listed below. The range also includes different gains, including variable versions, for application at any signal strength.

Masthead amplifiers are installed externally in a robust weather-proof casing, which slides up to reveal the amplifier. This is typically installed on the aerial pole.

It also requires a power supply which can be bought separately or as a kit. You can fit this behind one of any TV in the system. Simply install the power supply inline with the cable and plug it in to a mains socket. It then sends power up the cable to the masthead amplifier. This is ideal if you cannot install a distribution amplifier in the loft due to lack of a mains socket. Please note: any 5-12V source can be used instead of a power supply.

Features:

  • Fully-screened masthead amplifiers with 'F' connector (screw on) outputs.
  • Low noise figures and well-filtered inputs. Sharp cut off below 400MHz, helps avoid interference problems from nearby transmitters: CB, PMR, TETRA, HF and VHF amateur radio, etc.
  • Variable gain models have inter-stage control to maintain good noise figure at reduced gain.
  • With equipotential bonding point.

Response from Blake UK in every respect was very good and the product purchased is excellent. My only criticism is that the package that my omni FM/Dab aerial was sent in could have had more packing material as the carton was damaged in transit with a part of the product sticking out.

Excellent service, both before and after sales.

Good, well made coaxial TV antenna and F-Type satellite socket wall plate. It works well. The packaging could have done with some bubble wrap around the socket though for protection.

I already knew Blake from years ago. They are a quality vendor. The first BLA-LP56K was damaged by the courier in transit and they replaced it straightaway no quibbles the next day. This worked a treat in the loft with a masthead amp (have power in big loft). C/N : 30dB, sig: 100%, quality:100%: BER: 0.0. The aerial was connected into an IRS as the rooftop aerial had failed probably due to water ingress in the balun and I was quoted from £250 - £450 for a replacement outside antenna, probably because we have a very tall house/outside installation. Why bother when you know a log in the loft is going to work 11 miles from a 200kW station. As Blake say this is suitable for medium or strong signal areas but the addition of the masthead boosts the signal nicely for all round the house distribution.
