PROception proAMP-X series is a new kind of signal distribution amplifier which provides functions previously requiring two different amplifier types. X-series products have two distinct modes of operation and can be used either as straightforward multi-way signal distribution amplifiers – ‘aerial amplifiers’ – or as ‘return-path’ amplifiers. The products address the need to provide good-quality off-air terrestrial signals to all receivers in a household prior to Digital Switchover (DSO). Where digital satellite is used as the main reception platform X-series amplifiers allow the satellite set-top box's modulated analogue output to be distributed to other rooms along with the digital and analogue terrestrial signals. Remote infrared receiver 'eyes', can be used to control a Sky* receiver or Sky+* PVR remotely over its built-in 7 MHz return-path remote control interface.

Compatible power units

proPSU112X

A new PROception PSU designed specifically for use with the proAMP310X.

12V (nominal) unregulated DC line-power unit.
200 mA current rating.
5 to 862 MHz RF bandwidth.
Use in-line on any output for Mode 1, or on UHF input for Mode 2.

proPSA123

A plug-in type AC/DC power adapter suitable for use with the proAMP310X (also compatable with proAMP104X and proAMP108U)

12V (nominal) unregulated output on standard 2.1 mm DC power connector.
300 mA current rating.
Use with proAMP310X in Mode 1 or 2. (Mode 2 is automatically selected if 9 V from a satellite receiver or PVR is sensed on the UHF input. An interlock function prevents the satellite receiver trying to power the whole system in the event of loss of power to the power adaptor.)

Dual Mode Amplifiers Flexible Powering!

Dual-mode 3-input 10-output distribution amplifier with automatic mode selection.
Ideal for house-wide digital and analogue VHF radio and UHF TV signal distribution. Freeview and/or Sky TV – ready for DSO.
Separate filtered inputs for FM radio, DAB (Band III) and UHF TV bands.
Excellent out-of-band filtering to reduce the risk of interference problems from CB, PMR, TETRA, etc.
Flexible powering options – local or remote power supply location.

Equipotential bonding terminal for compliance with BS EN 60728-11.

Operation summary – Mode 1 (aerial amplifier mode, green LED indication)

Return-path and remote control functions are disabled in this mode. No ‘eye power’ is present on the outputs.
This mode is selected by powering the amplifier on any output, or on the local DC power port.
5 V power for a masthead preamplifier is available at the UHF input in this mode.
Use this mode for the multi-digital household where Sky remote control is not required.

Operation summary – Mode 2 (return-path mode, orange LED indication)

TV return-path and remote control functions are enabled; ‘eye power’ present on all outputs.
This mode is selected by powering the amplifier via its UHF input, or on the local DC power port. (When using local powering a 9 V ‘sense voltage’ from the digital satellite receiver of PVR must be present at the UHF input to select Mode 2.)
‘Eye power’ provided at each output. Compatible with PROception proSAT1EYE.
Use this mode when distributing from Sky ‘second outlet’ and remote control is required.
