This versatile amplifier is an addition to the PROception range of UHF masthead products. The unit has two modes of operation, allowing it to be used either as a four-way ‘aerial amplifier’ for off-air signal distribution, or as a ‘return-path amplifier’ for distribution of the UHF loop-through output of a Sky* or Sky+* receiver. In return-path mode full support is provided for remote infrared receivers (‘eyes’).

The product addresses the real need for a lower-gain multi-way masthead or outdoor amplifier suitable for distributing digital terrestrial signals to four or more points. In the run-up to digital switch-over millions of users currently using set-top aerials for their kitchen and bedroom TVs will need to install RF distribution systems to provide adequate DTT signals. The multi-digital household is already a reality with large numbers of Freeview† receivers now being purchased for use with ‘second’ and ‘third’ TVs.

Where more gain is required, without return-path capability, the proMHD14M or proMHD14V 4-way amplifiers should be considered.

1. Return-path mode is active only when the amplifier is powered via its input.
2. Signal handling capability is given for 5 analogue TV channels plus up to 6 DTT multiplexes at = 14 dB relative level.

4. Excludes current drawn by remote IR receivers. (The 75 mA available from a Sky receiver will power a 4-way system with four eyes.)
