Phantom+

So what does PhantomPLUS do for me?
Phantom+ turns any video recording device, such as HDD or DVD recorder, Media PC, (even a VCR if you still have one) into a virtual PVR.
This means you can keep up to date with the latest equipment as and when it becomes available without having to change your receiver or pay an additional subscription.
This also means that you have access to as much recording time as you will ever need.

So how do I use it?
Phantom+ works with your digital receiver’s on-screen 7-day guide or internal timer. All you have to do is to select your programs via the on-screen guide or internal timer, select AUTOVIEW or RECORD (depending on your receiver) and Phantom+ will take care of the rest.
When the program comes due Phantom+ will turn on the recorder, select the correct channel, and begin recording.
When the program is over it will stop recording and switch the recorder back to standby.

How do I set it up?
Phantom+ installation is simplicity itself. Just follow the three simple steps;

1 Teach it

Phantom+ is first ‘taught’ the commands necessary to control your recorder and the channel number necessary to record from your digital receiver.

2 Fit it

It is attached to the receiver’s “VCR” SCART socket at the back by means of the plug-through adapter. The main unit is attached to the side or top of the receiver or recorder by its magnetic base, ideally at the front facing forward.

3 Forget it!

Once fitted Phantom+ can be forgotten, and will never need reprogramming until you upgrade your recorder.
